Failed capacitors and contactors in summer heat
Why it happens here
Attic and outdoor temperatures in 32827 push past 140 degrees in July and August. Capacitors and contactors degrade faster under that heat, and a failed capacitor stops the compressor or fan from starting. It is the single most common repair we run here.
Our approach
We test capacitors and contactors with a multimeter on every diagnostic, replace them with higher-temperature-rated parts when available, and check the compressor windings for damage before we leave. Most replacements take under an hour.
